Nicholas Asare

Nicholas Asare is a senior lecturer with the Department of Accounting, University of Ghana Business School (UGBS). Over the years, he has taught courses at the post-graduate and undergraduate levels, such as Tax Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Corporate Financial Reporting, Cost & Management Accounting, Auditing & Assurance, Strategic Management Control, Public Sector Accounting and Forensic Accounting. Nicholas also taught at many universities, including Lancaster University, Methodist University Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Heritage Christian College, Wisconsin International University, the University College of Management Studies and Kings University College. Before joining the UGBS as a full-time lecturer, he worked as an accountant and finance manager with some companies in Ghana. Nicholas holds a BSc. in Administration (Accounting Option) degree (first class), and MPhil and PhD degrees in Accounting from the University of Ghana. He has presented numerous papers at several local and international conferences. He has also published scholarly articles in various peer-reviewed journals. Nicholas is a chartered accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG) and the Institute of Internal Auditors, Ghana. He offers management consulting services in tax accounting, internal auditing and compliance, accounting information systems, amongst others. As a facilitator at the UGBS Executive Development unit, he has provided training in internal auditing, tax accounting and forensic accounting. He has served on many committees at the UGBS and the University of Ghana as a whole. He is also a member of the Technical and Research Committee of the ICAG. He is a member of the Entity Tender and Audit Committees of some public sector institutions in Ghana. He also sits on the boards of some companies in Ghana. In his free time, Nicholas enjoys playing football, listening to music, and watching football and sports in general.
